ABOUT THE FILM

"Soulweaver"™ (PG-12) is an epic Finnish science fiction short film set in future Finland circa 3000 A.D. It is a mythological, poetic and dream-like journey to apocalyptic visions of past and future Earth. The fabric of reality, memories and dreams intertwine in the last days of our once flourishing planet. Man has destroyed himself and most of the planet. The surviving nature, animals and new species are living in the shadow of ruins and dying Earth; trying to make it in harmony. Something otherworldly is in the air.

The events begin when an alien artifact arrives in proximity of Eath in the year 2839.

Premiere will be in summer or autumn 2017. The film has no budget. It is a labour of love and devotion towards nature, biodiversity, animals, art, space and science fiction.

"Soulweaver" is not only a film, it is a complete world of its own that comes alive in the forms of photographic art, music, soundscapes, illustrations, paintings, poems, short novel, art book, maps and exhibitions. The world of "Soulweaver" also features fictional flora and fauna of its own. The forests, ruins and mythological places are based on real locations in south of Finland – see the maps and go see them for yourself. While you still can.
