NES games were available for rental from 1989 to somewhere in 1990s in Finland, mainly released by Yapon / Mon Pote Media Oy that this collection focuses is on. The games came in a VHS type of plastic case with a cover sleeve and a holder for NES cartridges inside. The games costed from around 20 marks to 35 marks to rent (around 3€ – 6€) for a day. These could be rented from R-kioski and some other video rental stores. RENTAL COVER STYLE VERSION: NINTENDO-LOGOS means cover style with a background border full of small diagonal Nintendo-logos. Colors vary. YAPON means cover style with a Yapon-logo in front, and without a border of Nintendo-logos. Both styles were published by Yapon / Mon Pote Media Oy. RELEASE YEARS: In the above list the first year is the game's original release year and if known, there is the Finnish rental release year (plus month). NOTE: All the cover papers of the collection are originals. I.e. there are no color copies which are not collectible in value. Colors, saturation and lightness/darkness levels of rental cover papers may vary sometimes a bit when compared to the art and colors of the boxed versions.     I wanted to mention this because when I started collecting I first sometimes thought a certain rental cover was a copy just looking at a picture but upon closer inspection in nature you can tell the cover is an original. The colors can be a bit different (not as pure) and contrast can be harder. To make sure, when an original cover papers is scanned in, say, at least 600 dpi and you zoom in the picture you can see the rasters where f.ex. usually in a copy or inkjet print you can't normally see that.
